Many laws and regulations that are relevant to insurers come from the European Union. In order to be well connected to developments in Brussels, the Association is a member of the European umbrella organisation of insurers Insurance Europe. Moreover, the Association itself is active in Brussels towards policymakers. Below is our news and publications about Europe.
Insurance Europe
Insurance Europe is affiliated with trade associations of insurers from all 28 European member states, plus those from a number of neighbouring countries. Insurance Europe represents the interests of all types of insurers, including large pan-European insurers, mutual insurers and reinsurers.
Insurance Europe stands for an open and competitive market, in which the interests of consumers go hand in hand with a healthy insurance sector. The insurance umbrella organisation identifies political issues that are of strategic importance to European insurers and promotes the role that insurers play in consumer protection and safety and in economic growth. As the voice of insurers in Europe, the umbrella organisation has a lot of influence and most of the lobby of the Federation in Brussels therefore runs through Insurance Europe.
